Milan’s late saviour Zachary Athekame and Pisa goalscorer Juan Cuadrado spoke to the press after tonight’s exciting 2-2 draw at San Siro.
“We are happy to have taken the draw at the end, but tonight we made mistakes and must reflect,”
“”I’m disappointed with the result. We wanted to win, and it was very important to us. It was important to win at home, and we didn’t play very well. Now we have to work.”

We expected this match, they came to defend and make life difficult for us. It’s only our fault if we didn’t win: we didn’t do enough to win the game. We lost two important points today. These home games, with all due respect to Pisa, you have to win.
We should have killed the game in the first half. We played well but only scored one goal. We started the second half sluggishly, then there was the unfortunate penalty and the goal. But that’s football, that’s why it’s beautiful: even if you’re the strongest and deserve to win, anything can happen. We’re sad and angry about losing two precious points.
A great draw for Gilardino’s side after their impressive second half comeback nearly sees them pick up their first win of the season – with Athekame saving the Rossoneri.
With just three minutes left of the time added, the Rossoneri have snatched an equaliser. Substitute Athekame to the rescue with his first goal for the club.
There will be six additional minutes played.
SAN SIRO IS STUNNED. Pisa lead with 5 minutes left to play. Nzola the scorer.
Athekame goes into the book for Milan’s first yellow card of the game.
Nkunku had a good chance to put his side in the lead but his header went over the bar.
Athekame and Nkunku come on for Bartesaghi and Gimenez.
Leao goes down in the box looking for a penalty but the referee waves play on.
Saelemaekers once again the source of threat for Milan as the Belgian picks up a rebound on the edge of the box and lets fly towards goal, with the Pisa shot-stopper doing brilliantly to tip the ball out for a corner.
Cuadrado is down and receiving medical treatment.
Leao does well to control a pass inside the box before firing a shot against the crossbar. Unlucky but the Rossoneri are turning up the heat once again.
After a competent first half, Milan let their guard down a little at the start of the second. The visitors’ equaliser was deserved and now the pressure is back on Allegri’s side to find a winner.
Saelemaekers goes close after some good work by himself to fashion a chance, he lets fly and his effort goes narrowly off-target.
The visitors convert from the spot as Juan Cuadrado brings the score to 1-1.
VAR review for a potential penalty. After Koni De Winter was judged to have handballed in the box, the referee points to the spot. However, the VAR is taking a second look at it.
Corner for Pisa as Aebischer whips one in but it is dealt with by the Rossoneri defence.
Good work from Bartesaghi once again who puts a good ball into the box but Santiago Giménez’s volley goes just wide of the goal.
Tramoni has an effort on goal from the edge of the box but it goes narrowly over the crossbar.
