Bologna dominated possession, but it was Torino who had the best chance to win with Che Adams hitting the crossbar.

The Rossoblu were unbeaten in five, but fumbled a 2-0 lead to draw with Fiorentina at the weekend. Emil Holm was sent off in that game and therefore suspended today, with Ciro Immobile injured, but Jens Odgaard returned to the squad. Coach Vincenzo Italiano was released from hospital, but not ready for the touchline yet after treatment for pneumonia. Toro had found form with seven points in three rounds, as Alberto Paleari took the gloves following sensational saves against Genoa. Niels Nkounkou, Zanos Savva and Perr Schuurs remained on the treatment table.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Che Adams thought he had opened the scoring for Torino when he pounced on the Martin Vitik error to go clear, but the powerful finish cracked against the crossbar.

Moments later, the hosts replied with a Charalampos Lykogiannis curler that was arrowing into the far top corner until Paleari’s save at full stretch. On the resulting corner, Federico Bernardeschi fired inches wide.

Santiago Castro came on for the second half and Bologna seemed far more aggressive, having dominated possession with little to show for it.

Immediately, a Bernardeschi half-volley was looping into the far top corner until the acrobatic Paleari fingertip save.

Lykogiannis again skimmed the upright, then had to help in defence with a crucial block on Cesare Casadei.

Nadir Zortea’s angled drive whistled past the far post, but Bologna were unable to find a way through.

Serie A | Torino 2-1 Genoa – Maripan leaves it late https://football-italia.net/serie-a-torino-2-1-genoa-maripan-leaves-late/ https://football-italia.net/serie-a-torino-2-1-genoa-maripan-leaves-late/#comments Sun, 26 Oct 2025 13:27:09 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=922853

Torino left it late to find the winner after coming from behind in a 2-1 victory over struggling Genoa in Serie A on Sunday afternoon, with goals from Morten Thorsby, an own goal from Stefano Sabelli and a late winner from Guillermo Maripan.

Both Marco Baroni and Patrick Vieira made one change each ahead of kick-off. Torino, who were coming in off an encouraging 1-0 win over league leaders Napoli last time out, brought Cristiano Biraghi in for Niels Nkounkou, while Genoa handed a start to Morten Thorsby instead of Vitinha.

Click here to read more about how the teams lined up.

A calamitous piece of Torino defending handed Genoa the 1-0 lead early on in the first half.

Jeff Ekhator played an optimistic ball into the area, Kristjan Asllani made a complete hash of his clearance, which meant that Thorsby was free on the edge of the six yard box to stab home the opener.

Torino had to wait until midway through the second half to begin their turnaround.

Again, it was a cross in from the same flank at the same end of the pitch, and another piece of disastrous defending that led to the goal. Marcus Holmgren Pedersen’s cross was aimed at Che Adams, but Stefano Sabelli ended up steering into his own net in an attempt to clear.

Torino claimed the three points right at the last: In the 90th minute. A routine corner from Valentino Lazaro came in from the right flank, and Maripan was on hand to slam home a first-time volley in the middle of the area for 2-1.

With two consecutive league victories to their name, Torino are temporarily up to 11th place in the Serie A standings, while Genoa, still without a win in the league this season, remain rooted to the bottom of the table on three points after eight games.

Serie A: Torino vs. Genoa – Confirmed line-ups and updates https://football-italia.net/serie-a-torino-genoa-confirmed-line-ups/ https://football-italia.net/serie-a-torino-genoa-confirmed-line-ups/#respond Sun, 26 Oct 2025 10:45:16 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=922828

Marco Baroni and Patrick Vieira have made just one change each ahead of the meeting of Torino and Genoa in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

Today’s game begins in the early kick-off slot at 11.30 GMT.

Torino are looking to capitalise on their momentum following an encouraging 1-0 victory against league leaders Napoli last time out in Serie A. The Granata will be backed by a sell-out crowd in Turin on Sunday.

Marco Baroni has made just one change to his side following the Napoli victory, bringing in Cristiano Biraghi to replace Niels Nkounkou at left wing-back. Last week’s goalscorer Giovanni Simeone leads the line again, alongside Scotland international Che Adams.

Genoa, who drew 0-0 with Parma last time out, have replaced Vitinha with Morten Thorsby, but are otherwise unchanged.

Torino vs. Genoa: Confirmed line-ups

Torino (3-4-1-2): Paleari; Tameze, Maripan, Coco; Pedersen, Casadei, Asllani, Biraghi; Vlasic; Simeone, Adams.

Genoa (4-2-3-1): Leali; Norton-Cuffy, Ostigaard, Vasquez, Sabelli; Masini, Frendrup; Ellertson, Malinkovskyi, Thorsby; Ekhator.

Sacchi explains where Conte went wrong in Torino 1-0 Napoli defeat https://football-italia.net/where-conte-went-wrong-napoli-0-1-torino/ https://football-italia.net/where-conte-went-wrong-napoli-0-1-torino/#respond Sun, 19 Oct 2025 09:15:27 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=921459

Arrigo Sacchi believes that Napoli were ‘too slow in general’ during their surprise 1-0 defeat away against Torino on Saturday evening, which cost them control of the Serie A table.

Napoli were without several key first-team players in Turin on Saturday, with Amir Rrahmani, Scott McTominay, Stanislav Lobotka, Rasmus Hojlund and Romelu Lukaku all out of the matchday squad through injury, and Alessandro Buongiorno and Matteo Politano only fit enough to start from the bench.

As a result, the depleted Partenopei fell to their second Serie A defeat of the season after a first-half strike from Giovanni Simeone, who is currently on loan with an obligation to buy from Napoli to Torino.

Sacchi on Napoli 0-1 Torino defeat: ‘Too predictable, too slow’

Sacchi believes that Napoli should have shown more in their defeat against Torino, even with their significant injury list.

“Napoli, even considering the two big absences, did not seem as great as Conte would have liked. The offensive moves were too predictable. They were too slow in general,” Sacchi wrote in his La Gazzetta dello Sport column.

“When Torino dropped back in the second half, Conte’s boys were unable to find the key to unlock their opponent’s defence. That’s an aspect they have to work on if they want to get to the highest level, which Napoli could do.”

The Partenopei will have an opportunity to bounce back when they travel to the Netherlands for Champions League action on Tuesday night.

“They will be in action against PSV in Eindhoven in the Champions League on Tuesday, and that will make it clear if this defeat is a one-off short circuit, or if it is necessary to reconsider some of the mechanics and positioning on the pitch.

“There isn’t much time to recover, but I’m sure that Conte will be able to make the most of it.”

Conte on new McTominay and Hojlund injuries: ‘Won’t force anyone’ https://football-italia.net/conte-on-new-mctominay-and-hojlund-injuries/ https://football-italia.net/conte-on-new-mctominay-and-hojlund-injuries/#respond Sat, 18 Oct 2025 19:32:51 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=921399

Antonio Conte gives more insight into why Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund were out of the Napoli squad against Torino. ‘I won’t force anyone to play.’

The Partenopei suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Torino this evening, their second Serie A loss in the last three rounds, decided by a single Giovanni Simeone goal.

They were hit hard by an injury crisis, which ruled out Stanislav Lobotka, Amir Rrahmani, Romelu Lukaku and Nikita Contini, with Alessandro Buongiorno and Matteo Politano only fit for the bench.

The big surprise was that McTominay and Hojlund were not even on the bench, so Conte was pressed for details in the post-match press conference.

Conte explains Napoli decisions after injury problems

“If they had made the trip, it’s because I intended to use them,” said the coach with some irritation.

“The problem is that McTominay had six stitches put in just above the ankle on Thursday after a clash. He tried to train, but preferred to sit it out.

“Hojlund returned tired from international duty. He had not been playing at all for Manchester United, then suddenly played every game with us and Denmark, so it took its toll with a quadricep issue.

“We play every three days, so even a strain can become a problem. There’s no point running extra risks, as we have alternatives. It’s better to use a healthy horse than a lame one.”

However, when it comes to seeing these Napoli stars in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday, it is still up in the air.

“We’ll see. I won’t force anyone to play, let that be clear. We have a squad, we worked on the transfer market for this possibility,” added Conte.

The coach has been critical of those who call Napoli the Scudetto favourites this season, even though they are the reigning Champions of Italy and brought in new players during the summer.

“I never talk about absences, I don’t like doing that and it’s not right for those who gave their all on the field today,” added Conte.

“It is important to separate the result from the performance. We controlled the game overall, and were just trying to be a bit too pretty. Torino deserve credit for making the most of their opportunity.”

Baroni urges Torino patience after giant-killing victory https://football-italia.net/baroni-urges-torino-patience-giant-killing/ https://football-italia.net/baroni-urges-torino-patience-giant-killing/#respond Sat, 18 Oct 2025 19:13:31 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=921395

Marco Baroni believes Torino are just starting to find their feet after a 1-0 win over Serie A leaders Napoli. ‘People want everything all at once.’

Curiously, Toro have only managed two victories in Serie A this season, and they were both against the league leaders, defeating Roma and Napoli 1-0.

“We have been lacking in some matches, but we worked on those issues and saw the results today,” Baroni told DAZN Italia.

“It was a complicated game today, but we had the right approach, and I am very happy. It’s an important win that will certainly help us to keep growing.”

Torino ups and downs with Baroni

Baroni has a remarkable record against Antonio Conte, only losing once to the successful coach, along with a draw and three victories.

“Antonio is a great coach and we were also teammates, so there is great respect between us. I am not surprised at our result, because I know this team is getting better, and has the potential to do far more.

“People want everything all at once, but it’s not easy, especially for a team that made so many changes over the summer. Just look at players like Asllani, Simeone and Ngonge, who were not accustomed to playing 90 minutes regularly. It takes time to get them to full fitness.

“You need courage and to take risks on the field. The mobility of our forwards caused problems for Napoli, we just had to put the pressure on the wide men and keep that going,” concluded Baroni.

It was an emotional evening at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, with several players facing their former teammates, including Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, Cyril Ngonge, Eljif Elmas, Alessandro Buongiorno and Duvan Zapata.

However, the most affected by far was Giovanni Simeone, who recently confessed he cried for hours when leaving Napoli, and yet here scored the only goal to defeat his beloved former club 1-0.

Cholito refused to celebrate after the goal, waving apologetically to the crowd, and left the field to a standing ovation from both sets of fans when substituted.

Conte: ‘Napoli tried too hard to be pretty, gift to Torino’ https://football-italia.net/conte-napoli-tried-too-hard-be-pretty-torino/ https://football-italia.net/conte-napoli-tried-too-hard-be-pretty-torino/#comments Sat, 18 Oct 2025 18:49:40 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=921387

Antonio Conte insists Napoli ‘did it all by ourselves’ in gifting Torino the 1-0 victory after a Billy Gilmour error. ‘We were too busy trying to be ‘pretty’ to score.’

The Partenopei were decimated by injuries going into this match, as Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund were late additions to the absentee list, joining Stanislav Lobotka, Amir Rrahmani, Romelu Lukaku and Nikita Contini.

Matteo Politano and Alessandro Buongiorno were only fit to come off the bench late on, where Politano’s curler came off the upright and was turned in by Noa Lang in an offside position.

The only goal of the game was from ex-Napoli striker Giovanni Simeone, who pounced on a Gilmour error to doom his old club.

“We moved the ball well and created situations in the first half, but were too busy trying to be ‘pretty’ and basically we created their goal for them,” Conte told DAZN Italia.

“There was more energy after the break, but not enough. So congratulations to Torino, but the fact is we did it all ourselves today.”

This is the second defeat of the Serie A season for the reigning Champions of Italy, who had also lost 2-1 to AC Milan on September 28.

That is two losses in their last three, as many as in the previous 31 league fixtures, and Conte was again eager to point out they should not be considered Scudetto favourites.

“I had said at the start of the season that I know football well, so I assumed these were perfectly normal things to say. We are building something new here.

“We’ve got to work well and our season will depend on how the new arrivals grow and improve. We have a game every three days, we do not have time to work in training, so we’ve got to improve every time and have patience before seeing those improvements.”

Curiously, Torino’s only two victories were against joint leaders Roma and Napoli, confirming their status as giant-killers.

However, the Partenopei have shown serious problems defensively and conceded in each of their last seven competitive games.

“We conceded the goal that we created, so that was nothing to do with the defence,” insisted Conte, pinning the blame on Gilmour for that error.

“We’ve always got to work as a team, unfortunately today there was that ricochet that accidentally came off Gilmour – who had a great game overall – and it set up Simeone.

“Our football sees us constantly in the opposition half, so it’s natural there will be a few counter-attacks, and we need to get used to that.

“I don’t remember seeing defensive problems, we’ve got to start accepting there will be duels and we must do better.”

Serie A | Torino 1-0 Napoli: Simeone sinks his old squad https://football-italia.net/serie-a-torino-1-0-napoli-simeone-sinks-squad/ https://football-italia.net/serie-a-torino-1-0-napoli-simeone-sinks-squad/#comments Sat, 18 Oct 2025 17:58:39 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=921359

A Napoli side decimated by injuries suffered their second Serie A defeat of the season, as Giovanni Simeone was decisive for Torino, along with VAR late on.

The Partenopei were missing Scott McTominay, Rasmus Hojlund, Stanislav Lobotka, Amir Rrahmani, Romelu Lukaku and Nikita Contini, with Matteo Politano and Alessandro Buongiorno not fully fit either, so Billy Gilmour, Juan Jesus, Lorenzo Lucca and David Neres stepped in. Toro had to do without Zakaria Aboukhlal, Tino Anjorin, Ivan Ilic, Zanos Savva and Perr Schuurs, while Ardian Ismajli was only ready for the bench. Giovanni Simeone and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic faced their former clubs.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Nikola Vlasic was so unlucky not to give Torino the early lead on 15 minutes, as his angled drive beat former teammate Vanja Milinkovic-Savic only to bounce off the inside of the far post.

Kevin De Bruyne’s free kick tested Franco Israel, then the ex-Manchester City man’s curler was deflected inches wide after a Marcus Pedersen error, while Matias Olivera failed to get the decisive flick on an assist from six yards.

Torino broke the deadlock when Gilmour’s error allowed Simeone to spring the offside trap, but he had more to do when sending Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Milinkovic-Savic to ground, turning in from a tight angle. The former Napoli man waved an apology to his old fans, recently confessing he cried for hours after leaving the club.

It was almost 2-0 moments later, as Marcus Pedersen fired over after a Simeone pass bounced awkwardly, while Sam Beukema blasted not far off target.

Che Adams saw his effort deflected onto the side-netting by Juan Jesus and Israel smothered the Leonardo Spinazzola strike, while Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa’s header was fingertipped over from a Spinazzola cross.

De Bruyne couldn’t keep his volley down on the Noa Lang pull-back and Milinkovic-Savic was right behind the Adams effort, as Napoli started to put together a string of corners.

They pinned Toro back into their own half, but Saul Coco cleared a Spinazzola cross practically off the line, then Eljif Elmas ballooned over the bar first-time on yet another Spinazzola cross.

Duvan Zapata only grazed his head to a Cristiano Biraghi free kick and Spinazzola stung Israel’s gloves in stoppages.

Napoli had wild celebrations in stoppages when Matteo Politano’s curler bounced off the base of the far post, hit Israel in the back, and Noa Lang turned in the rebound from a couple of yards. However, Lang was offside when Politano took the initial shot, so the goal was disallowed.

Napoli chief Manna gives McTominay and Hojlund injury updates https://football-italia.net/napoli-manna-mctominay-hojlund-injury-updates/ https://football-italia.net/napoli-manna-mctominay-hojlund-injury-updates/#respond Sat, 18 Oct 2025 15:43:41 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=921334

Napoli director Giovanni Manna gives injury updates on Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund ahead of the clash with Torino. ‘There’s no point running risks when we have many games.’

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s four Serie A games on the Liveblog.

There were already problems for the Partenopei to deal with, missing Stanislav Lobotka, Amir Rrahmani, Romelu Lukaku and Nikita Contini, with Matteo Politano and Alessandro Buongiorno only fit for the bench.

Napoli dealing with a fresh injury crisis

However, in a surprising twist, McTominay and Hojlund were not even named on the bench either.

“We have many games, so there’s no point running risks,” Manna told DAZN Italia.

“Hojlund has a muscular issue, ahead of a Champions League match in the Netherlands, there’s no need to run a risk. McTominay had a cut to his ankle that required stitches, so again it is futile to push him in that condition.”

When Napoli won the Scudetto last season, it was with only one tournament to focus on, whereas this term they have the Champions League, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana too.

With that in mind, the club worked with Antonio Conte to build a squad that had more alternatives for different tactical systems, which is proving particularly useful during this injury crisis.

“Certainly, as the coach said yesterday, our construction of the squad was based on these ideas. When there are four midfielders, it’s difficult to leave them out. We have so many games and are happy to have players who can cover various different roles,” added Manna.

“We want to give a sense of consistency to our campaign, pick up where we left off before the break for international duty.”

CASTEL DI SANGRO, ITALY - AUGUST 14: Romelu Lukaku of Napoli lies on the pitch after being injured during the pre-season friendly match between Napoli and Olympiacos at Stadio Teofilo Patini on August 14, 2025 in Castel di Sangro, Italy. (Photo by Giuseppe Bellini/Getty Images)

With the latest setbacks, it is easy to forget that Napoli have been without top striker Romelu Lukaku since a pre-season friendly against Olympiacos, and he is not expected back until at least mid-November or early December.

“It has not been easy for Lukaku recently, he is finalising the rehabilitation process in Belgium, we expect him to return to Italy after a couple of weeks. He also had an enormous family loss to deal with, we anxiously await him to give him an embrace. He is always Romelu.”

The Belgium international and his brother Jordan are mourning the loss of their father in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund are added to the injury list for Napoli in today’s trip to Torino, putting them in doubt for the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s four Serie A games on the Liveblog.

The Partenopei know this is an opportunity to go clear at the top of the table, as Roma will play Inter this evening in a tough fixture.

However, the break for international duty added to the injury list for Stanislav Lobotka, Amir Rrahmani, Romelu Lukaku and Nikita Contini, with Matteo Politano and Alessandro Buongiorno only fit for a spot on the bench.

More importantly, McTominay and Hojlund are not even in the squad this afternoon, as both picked up problems in the final training session.

Napoli absentee list keeps growing

According to Sky Sport Italia, Scotland international McTominay is suffering from a knock to the left ankle.

Meanwhile, Hojlund is feeling a strain in his left thigh and is not going to be risked.

It means both require further tests and could be in doubt for Tuesday’s crucial Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven.

Lorenzo Lucca therefore starts against Torino as the only available striker, with left-back Leonardo Spinazzola moved into a more advanced role.

Lorenzo Lucca, David Neres and Billy Gilmour step in for injury-hit Napoli, joining Kevin De Bruyne for the trip to Giovanni Simeone’s Torino.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s four Serie A games on the Liveblog.

The Partenopei are joint top of the Serie A table with Roma, but the break for international duty only further added to their injury worries.

Stanislav Lobotka, Amir Rrahmani, Romelu Lukaku and Nikita Contini are out of action, while Matteo Politano and Alessandro Buongiorno are not fully fit either.

It means Gilmour takes over the midfield reins with De Bruyne, while Neres gets the nod out wide, but Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund are not even on the bench.

According to Sky Sport Italia, McTominay has an ankle issue, while Hojlund feels a strain in his calf muscle.

Instead, Lucca and in a more advanced role Leonardo Spinazzola get the nod for a 4-3-3 formation.

Torino are deeply unpredictable under new coach Marco Baroni, as their only victory of the Serie A season was 1-0 away to joint leaders Roma.

However, they suffered heavy losses to Inter and Atalanta, also falling at Parma before a chaotic 3-3 draw at Lazio.

Injuries are a big problem here too, with Zakaria Aboukhlal, Tino Anjorin, Ivan Ilic, Zanos Savva and Perr Schuurs out, while Ardian Ismajli is not at 100 per cent either.

Giovanni Simeone gets to face his former club, having left Napoli over the summer to seek more regular playing time.

Italy Under-21 international Cesare Casadei and ex-Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani bring quality to the midfield.

Torino: Israel; Tameze, Coco, Maripan; Pedersen, Casadei, Asllani, Vlasic, Nkounkou; Adams, Simeone

Napoli: Milinkovic-Savic; Di Lorenzo, Beukema, Juan Jesus, Olivera; Anguissa, Gilmour, De Bruyne; Neres, Lucca, Spinazzola

Rasmus Hojlund will lead the Napoli attack in an away game at Torino, while the Granata are expected to rely on Giovanni Simeone and Ché Adams up front.

It kicks off at 18:00 CET (17:00 BST) at the Stadio Grande Torino.

The home side are without Zakaria Aboukhlal, Tino Anjorin and Perr Schuurs, while the Partenopei have travelled up north without Nikita Contini, Romelu Lukaku, Amir Rrahmani and Stanislav Lobotka.

Multiple sources, including Sky Sport Italia, claim that Torino will slightly change their system, picking two centre-forwards: Simeone, a former Napoli striker, and Scotland international Adams.

Napoli will replace the injured Lobotka with another Scottish player, Billy Gilmour, while Scott McTominay will start on the left wing to make room for Zambo Anguissa and Kevin De Bruyne in the middle of the park.

Alex Meret and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic battle for a starting spot in goal. According to Sky, the Italian will get the nod, while Gazzetta claims that Milinkovic-Savic is the favourite.

Serie A returns this weekend after the break for international duty, with Davide Massa assigned to referee Roma-Inter, Luca Marinelli officiating Milan-Fiorentina and Giovanni Ayroldi for Como-Juventus.

The squads are coming back together for training after travelling all over the world and will be back in action for their clubs for the Week 7 fixtures.

The biggest match without doubt is the battle between Roma and Inter at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening.

This has been assigned to veteran referee Massa, with Francesco Meraviglia as the VAR.

Massa’s record with Roma is very balanced with 10 victories, 12 draws and nine defeats.

In comparison, Inter have a much stronger run under this referee, as he oversaw 20 wins, five stalemates and five losses.

There have been some editions of this fixture before with Massa, who was officiating Inter’s 1-0 win away to Roma in October 2024, but also the time the Giallorossi snatched a 2-1 victory at San Siro in October 2022.

Report: Ex Inter & PSG forward Icardi linked with Serie A return https://football-italia.net/report-ex-inter-psg-forward-icardi-linked/ https://football-italia.net/report-ex-inter-psg-forward-icardi-linked/#respond Mon, 13 Oct 2025 16:35:46 +0000 https://football-italia.net/?p=920668

Mauro Icardi does not appear entirely convinced about remaining in Turkey, and at the end of this season, he will be available on a free transfer once his contract with Galatasaray expires.

The Argentine striker, who scored 121 Serie A goals during his spells with Inter and Sampdoria, is reportedly prioritising a return to Italy to continue his career.

According to La Stampa, confirming reports from Istanbul, via AreaNapoli, Torino president Urbano Cairo is exploring the possibility of bringing Icardi back to Serie A.

Torino exploring move for Icardi

Such a move would also allow Icardi to be closer to his daughters following his definitive split from Wanda Nara.

The idea of an all-Argentine attacking partnership with Giovanni Simeone, formerly of Napoli, has already captured the imagination of the Granata fans.

There are no conditions for a deal in January, but Galatasaray could be open to selling for a minimal fee to avoid losing him for nothing and to save around €3m net in wages.

Zapata future to be established first

Before making a move, Torino must assess the fitness of Duván Zapata, under contract until 2027, who is still recovering from a serious knee injury and has managed just 23 minutes across Serie A and the Coppa Italia this season.

For now, the 32-year-old Icardi remains part of coach Okan Buruk’s plans at Galatasaray and has scored five goals in his first seven league games, serving as the primary alternative to Victor Osimhen in the Turkish champions’ forward line.
