Federico Chiesa scored another goal for Liverpool in a 2-1 loss against Crystal Palace on Saturday and seems to have finally revived his career at Anfield.
Italy international Chiesa scored his second Premier League goal this season on Saturday, and even if his strike was not enough for the Reds to avoid defeat, it was extremely meaningful for the ex-Juventus winger.
Chiesa’s improvements at Liverpool

It is no secret that Chiesa struggled to get playing time in 2024-25 due to poor fitness. The 27-year-old finished the previous season with two goals and two assists in 14 appearances across all competitions and collected just 104 minutes across six Premier League appearances.
Despite rumours of a possible return to Serie A, Chiesa said in June that his goal was to get in shape for the start of the pre-season with Liverpool, and the early signs suggest that he’s accomplished his target.
The Italian has already equalled last season’s personal record, having already grabbed two goals and two assists in just six appearances.
Furthermore, he scored both his goals in Premier League matches, proving to be ready to compete in the best league in the world.
Chiesa targets Champions League and Italy now

The next challenge for him will be to show the same quality in Champions League nights, as Liverpool have now added him to their Champions League squad, replacing the injured Giovanni Leoni.
Last but not least, Chiesa may not be a regular Liverpool starter, but his performances should be enough to earn a spot in the Italy national team as well.
Gennaro Gattuso was ready to call him up for the September games against Estonia and Israel, but decided to give the winger more time to get back in shape.
With two assists and one goal in the last two matches across all competitions, the time has probably come to see Chiesa wear the Azzurri shirt again, for the first time since Euro 2024.
